A cyclist was seriously injured when a passenger reached out of a passing car and pushed him off his bike.

 

Dave Scargill, 58, of Albany Close, Wombwell, was riding at about 30 miles per hour on Bilham Lane in Hooton Pagnall near Thurnscoe last Thursday when a black Vauxhall Corsa pulled up beside him.

 

The passenger leaned out of the window and shoved Dave from his bike.

 

He is still in Barnsley Hospital after suffering a broken collarbone, two broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

Dave's son Alan, 31, of Wombwell, said his father was waiting for an operation on his broken collarbone, but this could not happen until fluid had been drained from his lung.
