BERNESLAI Homes are set to host a number of sessions for residents on damp and mould over the coming weeks.

The first session was held on Friday morning at Manor Court Community Centre in Royston.

Further sessions this month will be held in Darton, Lundwood, Worsbrough and Kendray.

In February, drop-in sessions will be held in Cudworth, Shafton and the town centre.

A full list of all the sessions can be found on the Berneslai Homes website.

A spokesperson said: “Throughout 2025, our customer engagement team hosted drop-in sessions on condensation, damp and mould build-up.

“Across the borough, tenants learned more about how to stay safe and well in their homes.

“Our team talked about how to spot the different signs, such as condensation build-up on windows, as well as damp and mould growing on walls.

“To prevent this from happening, we shared our top tips, which included using lids on pans when cooking, wiping windows to remove condensation, and drying clothes outside where possible.

“We encouraged tenants to act fast by showing them how to carefully remove damp and mould, providing free kits that can be used in their homes.

“Our partners, such as Barnsley Council, offered support and guidance on energy advice, Pension Credit, training opportunities, and more.

“Tenants also got advice on how to report damp and mould to us if it doesn’t go away after trying our tips.”
