PENISTONE Church won 1-0 at home to Thackley, moving them 11 points clear of the NCEL Premier relegation zone.
Jordan Coduri got the winner for Church who, after a 12-game winless run, are unbeaten in four.
They are now 11th with 32 points from 27 games, and 11 to play.
They had not won at home in ten games since September.
Coach Brett Lovell said: “I said before the game I wanted two things - a clean sheet, it’s been a long time since we’ve had one, also three points at home. They have duly delivered.
“The first half was pretty poor, both teams cancelled one another out, there wasn’t an awful lot of quality. If I’m being honest, they probably shaded possession but there wasn’t a whole host of chances.
“We made an enforced change at half-time, we had to bring skipper Danny Howes off, because he’d been struggling with his heel. We brought Jordan Coduri on and he was absolutely excellent, he drove us on, gave us the calmness in possession and he scored an excellent goal - a goal worthy of winning any football match.
“Thackley had a lot of the ball for the last ten or 15 minutes, they put it on us but to a man our defensive shape was excellent.
“We can now breathe a sigh of relief because it’s been a long time coming, that home win.”
Wombwell Town lost 7-1 at high-flying Sheffield FC.
Town are last and eight points adrift of safety.
They are winless in 17 with their next two games against top four sides Handsworth and Beverley.
Town took the lead through Mo Mohamed but were 3-1 down at the break then conceded four in the second half.
