A LOCAL councillor has slammed ‘mindless’ vandals who have destroyed a newly-landscaped roundabout.
Off-road bikes or quads have caused damage to the roundabout on the A635 Doncaster Road.
Coun Pauline Markham, who represents the Darfield ward, told the Chronicle that it’s ‘thoughtless’ people who are ruining the area for others.
She added: “I wish express my frustration and disappointment over a recent act of vandalism at the newly landscaped roundabout on the A635 Doncaster Road, right on the edge of the Darfield ward.
“It is incredibly disheartening to see all the hard work and effort that went into this being mindlessly destroyed by individuals using either quad bikes or off-road bikes.
“It’s a real shame that some people choose to divert their energy into causing damage rather than contributing positively to our community.
“The roundabout was meant to be a welcoming addition to our area, and now, thanks to a few thoughtless individuals, it’s been marred by senseless vandalism.
“I urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any similar suspicious activity.
“Together, we can work towards ensuring that such incidents do not continue to happen.”
