Barnsley will look to continue their four-game unbeaten run at Oakwell when they face Peterborough United from 7.45pm on Tuesday.
The Reds are 16th in League One, six points clear of the relegation zone and 11 off the play-offs – with up to four games in hand on some teams.
They drew 3-3 at home to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday and are winless in their last three home or away.
Posh are tenth, five points off the play-off places and six above Barnsley.
They sacked long-serving manager Darren Ferguson in October after he picked up ten points from the first 13 games of the season, leaving them bottom and five points adrift of safety.
They brought in former Notts County and Swansea boss Luke Williams who led them up the table quickly and has won 11 of his 19 games in charge.
Last week they won 6-1 at home to Wigan on Saturday then 2-1 at Mansfield on Tuesday. They then lost 2-0 at Bradford on Saturday.
They currently have the fifth best away record in the division, with no team winning more than their seven games on the road.
Barnsley head coach Conor Hourihane said: “Since Luke's gone in, I think he's done fantastically well.
“He's a really good coach.
“They're good with the ball. They play an attacking style, as I like to play.
“He’s picked up a lot of points.
“So, we need to be ready for the game and analyse them properly and pick a team to try and go out and get a good result.
“We still want our attacking output and go and attack games and go and excite people and enjoy the attacking side of the game.
“And then, we can't be conceding three goals all the time.
“We conceded three goals now in the last two games and that can’t continue, obviously.”
The two clubs have already met twice this season at London Road, with Barnsley winning 1-0 in the league in August thanks to a Caylan Vickers goal then by the same scoreline in the FA Cup in December with Patrick Kelly on target.
Those are two of the three clean sheets Conor Hourihane has overseen in his time in charge of the Reds so far.
“I think when we played them in the cup it was one of Luke's first games.
“So, it's going to be a little bit of a different task because they were getting to know Luke's style then, but they've obviously picked it up now because they've picked up a lot of points.
“It’s a team that can cause you problems if you're not right out of possession and we need to definitely have a good mentality out of possession.”
The clubs have met 48 times, with both winning 20.
Barnsley are unbeaten in five meetings with three wins and two draws.
Peterborough won three games in a row at Oakwell before drawing 1-1 last season with Jon Russell equalising.
