It was a mixed weekend for Barnsley’s top non-league sides.
Worsbrough Bridge’s game at Appleby Frodingham in NCEL Division One was called off due to a serious injury to a home player.
Worsbrough were 1-0 up at the time.
Leaders Dearne and District won 1-0 at home to fifth-placed Brigg Town. Cian Guest netted.
Dearne have won 12 in a row so are 14 points clear in the only automatic promotion place and need six more for the title.
They have five games to play starting at Club Thorne on Friday evening before they host Doncaster City on Wednesday.
Athersley Rec lost 2-1 at South Leeds.
James Woodhouse put them ahead but the hosts came back to win.
They remain a place above the relegation zone but the points gap has been halved to three.
Wombwell Town drew 2-2 at home to fellow strugglers Horbury Town in the Premier Division, ending an eight-game losing run.
Jack Wilson and Charlie Rogerson Wombwell 2-0 up but the visitors levelled.
Town remain bottom and will be relegated if they do not beat Handsworth on Tuesday.
Penistone Church lost 2-0 at Golcar United.
They are 12th in the table, eight points clear of the relegation zone but teams below have games in hand.
Church now have three games remaining on the next three Saturdays.
