THERE were two Barnsley cyclists on the podium in the first stage of the Peaks Velo Edge Road Race.
Jenson Young, from Hemingfield, won the race with Damien Clayton, from Cawthorne, third having led earlier on.
The course was 99.3 kilometres in the Peak District and conditions were windy.
It was a first road race victory in two years for Jenson who usually competes on the UCI World Gravel Racing Circuit.
It was a two-stage competition over the weekend, with Jenson finishing second overall.
