TWENTY-FIVE of the players in the Chinese senior squad during this international break play for Chinese clubs, with the other being Barnsley under 21s midfielder Xu Bin.

Xu, who is on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, has played regularly for the under 21s since signing in the January transfer window – including the Sheffield Senior Cup loss at Worsbrough Bridge earlier this month.

China are due to play Curacao on Friday then Cameron on Tuesday, both in Melbourne, Australia.

Patrick Kelly is in the Northern Ireland squad for their World Cup play-off against Italy in Bergamo on Thursday with the winners then facing either Bosnia and Herzegovina or Wales for a place in the summer tournament.

Jono Bland is with the Wales under 21 squad while Vimal Yoganathan was initially named on standby. They host Belarus on Friday in Newport before visiting Denmark on Tuesday, both in Euro under 21 qualifying games.

Owen Goodman is with Canada who play friendlies in Toronto against Iceland on Saturday then Tunisia in the early hours of Wednesday UK time, so he will have a quick turnaround before Barnsley visit Burton Albion on the Friday. The goalkeeper, on loan from Crystal Palace, is yet to make his international debut but has been in the last two squads for Canada who host the World Cup this summer along with USA and Mexico.

Goodman played for England under 20s before switching to Canada where he spent much of his childhood.
