Barnsley could lose 'a part of its history' if the town's oldest flower society folds due to a lack of new members.
Vanessa Keys, of Abbots Road, Burton Grange, has been secretary of the Barnsley Chrysanthemum and Floral Art Society for 45 years.
On Wednesday the group will hold its 125th annual exhibition at Priory Campus, but ahead of the event Vanessa, 75, has made a plea for more support to ensure the society sees in its 126th show.
She said it is mainly pensioners who are exhibiting and the society, which meets throughout the year, needs more younger members to keep it going.
