THE count for the local elections is taking place today at the Barnsley Metrodome and comprehensive coverage can be found on the Chronicle website.
Locals flocked to the voting booths yesterday to take part in the all-out elections where 63 councillors will be elected to the town hall.
The Labour Party currently have 46 councillors in post, the Lib Dems 12, there are three independents and one Conservative.
In order to hold a majority in the town hall, a party must garner a total of 32 seats.
Prediction polls have suggested a majority for the Reform Party.
