A BARNSLEY thief has been jailed after a string of offences.
Between April and May, Paul Wake stole items worth over £140 including alcohol, food and laundry products, from multiple shops around the town.
A police spokesperson said: “All incidents were captured on CCTV, and through work completed by our district support hub, Wake was identified as the suspect in all cases.
“It was also identified that Wake was in breach of his criminal behaviour order (CBO).”
The 48-year-old was arrested and charged with five counts of shoplifting and three counts of breaching a CBO.
Wake, of Rufford Avenue, Athersley North, pleaded guilty to all offences at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and was handed a 12-month sentence.
“Our work continues around shoplifting and those who choose to breach their CBOs - if you see offences happening, report it to us so we can investigate accordingly,” added the spokesperson.
