A HOUSING developer is set to build 104 new homes after being granted planning permission for a £23.5m development.

Called Houghton Place and located on High Street in Great Houghton, the development will comprise a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes.

It will feature 14 of Avant Homes’ house types and ten have been designated to affordable housing.

Work is expected to start on site in the summer and it is anticipated the first homes will be released for sale later this year.

The first residents are expected to move into their new homes by the end of the year.

Richard Hosie, from Avant Homes, said: “We are pleased to be granted planning for our Houghton Place development and provide quality new homes for buyers looking to move in or to Great Houghton.”
