THREE car parks in Wombwell have benefited from investment secured through the Principal Towns and Love Where You Live investment programmes.
Resurfacing and relining works have been carried out at Summer Lane, Cemetery Road and Snowden Terrace car parks, with planned improvements at the Station Road Library car park identified for investment in a future funding round.
Wombwell Labour councillor James Higginbottom told the Chronicle: “It’s great to see these improvements come to fruition, as they have been planned for some time.
“I would like to thank the staff involved in carrying out the works who have done an excellent job.
“These improvements will make our local car parks better places for visitors and shoppers in Wombwell town centre and support the significant investment that the previous Labour administration delivered through the Principal Towns Fund.
“I hope that the new administration will continue to support regeneration across the whole of the Barnsley borough and invest in communities like Wombwell.”
