BARNSLEY cyclist Damien Clayton won a 250km race over the Bank Holiday weekend.

He finished first in the Struggle 10 in North Yorkshire.

Cawthorne man Clayton, who is also an architect, finished 47 seconds clear of second-place.

Elsewhere, Imogen Wolff finished 70th in the 134k Veenendaal WE one day race in the Netherlands.

The 20-year-old from Silkstone Common competes professionally for Visma Lease-A-Bike.

The Netherlands race was her first since competing in the Vuelta Espana earlier this month.

Meanwhile, following the cancellation of the last two events due to bad weather, Birdwell Wheelers have fingers crossed for better conditions for the next competitive event of the season on Tuesday at Thurgoland.

The five-mile time trial event is open to all comers.
