A REDBROOK teenager has turned his lifelong coaching dreams into reality.
Jake Puddephatt-Taylor has channelled his passion for football into supporting his community through coaching.
The 19-year-old recently passed his level three extended diploma in sports coaching and development with Barnsley FC Community Trust.
Jake’s passion and commitment to coaching has landed him his dream role as a communiy coach for the trust.
The youngster’s efforts have gone far from unnoticed, also being among this year’s Young Champions finalists.
The lifelong Barnsley FC supporter admitted that he’s excited to coach the next generation of footballers.
Jake said: “Coaching is something I’ve always wanted to get involved in and I’ve played football since a young age.
“I’ve wanted to do it since I was very young I like helping people develop and give them my knowledge.
“I prefer it to playing football
“This opportunity came along and I thought I’d go for it and it’s with Barnsley FC, who I’ve supported my whole life.
“That was another really important factor for me to be able to get involved with this community where I’ve played for all my life and want to help other people too.
“I’ve coached lots of different people, like adults, children and people who have learning disabilities.
“Now my apprenticeship has finished there have been a lot of highlights for me stuff I’ve really enjoyed throughout.
“I’ve enjoyed going to different places across the country with different competitions and seeing lots of different people people that I never thought that I’d be able to meet.
“During my time coaching so far I’ve done so many things that I thought I’d never be able to do and this job has allowed me to do them.”
