A CARING eight-year-old has donated her locks for the second time to benefit youngsters who have cancer.
Jasmin Sanders, eight, is a multi-time donor for the Little Princess Trust and has raised four figures for charity.
The Royston youngster’s charitable journey started when she was just five years old.
Jasmin told grandma, Kerry, that she wanted to cut her hair to ‘help little boys and girls who are poorly’.
Kerry was touched by her granddaughter’s caring gesture - but was even more surprised when she learned that Jasmin came up with the idea to support The Little Princess Trust on her own.
The charity gives ‘hair and hope’, providing youngsters who have lost their hair through cancer treatment with free, real hair wigs.
After receiving a fundraising pack, Jasmin and her sister, Anya, set out to raise £500 to cover wig-making costs.
The kind-hearted duo set out to make bracelets and bake cakes as well as creating a JustGiving page to raise the vital funds.
The team of siblings raised an impressive £615, with Jasmin undergoing the big chop in March, 2023.
Fast-forward to this March, Jasmin was keen to make her second donation to the charity, with her hair finally growing long enough to make a second wig.
With the cost raising to £700, the Sanders family brainstormed more inventive ideas to raise funds.
Jasmin hosted a successful ‘summer fair’ on May 16, at the Pack Horse pub, in Royston, with a tombola, cake stall and more.
The selfless youngster even sold some of her second-hand toys to raise money for the fundraiser, as well as asking local businesses to get involved.
The fundraiser garnered £530, as well as £90 from a mini-fundraiser at the Barnsley Bowl.
Jasmin braved the chop for the second time at the Pack Horse, alongside a raffle and another collection for the charity.
So far, Jasmin has raised over £1,000 for charity and she shows no signs of slowing down.
Jasmin’s grandma, Kerry, said: “Jasmin makes all of her family so proud every day, she is such a thoughtful girl.
“She is eight years old and is always thinking of others.
“She is thinking of what she can do when her hair is long enough again and will continue to support this charity that she feels so passionate about.”
