BARNSLEY gained another centenarian as a Mapplewell care home resident celebrated her important birthday.
Mary Bray celebrated her 100th birthday last Friday at Field View Care Home.
Born on July 2, 1926, before becoming a mother Mary enjoyed a career in a shoe factory.
Mary then went on to have two sons, Eric and Peter, and is grandma to several grandchildren.
She lived on Waltham Street and in 1940 went to live in Haworth for five years, eventually moving back to Barnsley.
Last Thursday, she celebrated her birthday milestone with family, staff and residents and enjoyed entertainment by Alison Melling.
