TEN members of a working men’s club will get down on their hands and knees and crawl two miles for charity next month. Darren Wood, from Samuel Road, Gawber, came up with the idea of crawling from the town hall to Gawber Road WMC to raise money for Barnsley Hospice.
Punters at the club are hoping to raise £2,000 in memory of regular Dennis Allen who died of cancer.
Darren said: “Dennis was the sort of guy who'd be laughing his head off at us for doing this.”
Wickes has donated gloves and knee pads for the crawlers. The group will set off from the town hall on Sunday October 15 at 10.30am.
