Stephen Foster believes he and fellow stalwart Bobby Hassell have the experience needed to help the Reds steer clear of safety.
The duo are likely to form the central defensive pairing for the next few games after Martin Cranie's hamstring injury and Foster is relishing a return to first team action.
He and Hassell, both 32, have more than 1,000 career games between them, with almost 550 for Barnsley.
Foster told the Chronicle: "The fight and challenge over the next few games is one that we're all looking forward to.
"Bobby and I have been at the club for a while now and we're used to these kinds of battles. It's nothing new to us and we've come through it before and that experience will help us come through it again. We have no doubts that we have it in us to stay in the Championship."
