A GIRLfrom Barnsley has won a goody-bag in a competition at the Rotherham by Sea exhibition at the town's art gallery.
Milli Stirling, 5, of Brampton had to create a background story to one of the paintings on display and answer a series of questions based around the sea-themed exhibition.
Milli took a shine to a particular painting called A Morning Sail by Laslett John Pott which depicts a family coming ashore after a voyage on a sailing ship. She enjoyed looking at the children in the painting so much she created a story about them having come on the ship to live in a new country.
The competition, devised by museum volunteer Sarah Paddock, was designed to encourage both children and families to look closer at the paintings and prints on display, many of which had not been seen in public before.
