Having decided to delay the great naming debate until we got to know our new housemates a little better, day two seems long enough before starting to look at the options.

It was unanimously agreed that we were opting for ‘real’ names and not Tibby or Nibbles or Smudge! There was much hilarity as I revealed that I’d named my childhood pet cat Snaffles!

Organised daughter starts to make a list ...

“Let’s start with A, shall we?”

“Alfie, Archie, Albert ...” It’s going to be a long decision-making process, I fear.

As we reach O for Oliver, Ollie or Oscar and I’m losing the will to live ... elder daughter has a Eureka! moment and announces that her kitten (the white, black and brown one) is going to be called Rory.

We pause to exclaim that Rory (the tiger) suits our little prowler perfectly then it’s back to searching for a name for the other one ...

Having made it through to Z (for Zak or Zachary) we wrestle to make a shortlist ...
