PUNK band Fallen From View have made it a double-whammy for Barnsley bands after winning Channel 4's Popworld Promotes.
It is the second time a band from Barnsley has taken the top spot in the national competition after Midair 91 won in October. Fallen From View got 8,000 more points than the other 2,000 bands and artists who registered to take part.
The band - lead singer Michael Ennis, 21, drummer James Hanley, 18, rhythm guitarist Richard Copley, 21, lead guitarist Luke Beaumont, 18, and bassist Jamie Woodcock, 22, - haveonly been together a year.
Michael, of Brierley, said this year has been amazing for the band and their fan base has grown significantly. "Winning Popworld Promotes is the icing on the cake."
The lads will now join the other winners on a ten date national tour in 2007, travel to London to shoot a video and appear on the Channel 4 show.
