CAROL singers at this Elsecar home will be entertained themselves by a singing Santa.
Ian and Ann Loxley, of Cobcar Street, fill their garden with decorations every year but this Christmas they have surpassed even their own high standards with a Santa who performs Jingle Bells and an illuminated train and a major nativity scene.
Ann said: “It takes us about three weekends to set up but it’s always worth the effort. We started years ago with just some Christmas string on the house and it’s grown every year.”
The decorations have cost the family - Ian, Ann and children Lindsay, 26, Ryan, 23, and Kylie, 20 - hundreds of pounds. Santa alone was bought off shopping channel QVC for £200. They took three weeks to set up before the big switch on on December 2.
The family have included a charity box in their garden and hope to raise £150 for Barnsley hospice.
