WHEELCHAIR users with a love of cycling can now pursue their passion thanks - in part - to fundraising by a women's organisation.

Members of the Barnsley branch of Inner Wheel donated £1,332.50 towards the purchase of an inclusion bike, which can carry a disabled passenger.

The specialised equipment, which costs around £12,500, was bought by Barnsley Disability Sports Forum and will be kept at Cycle Penistone, off St Mary's Street, Penistone, for users to enjoy on the adjacent Trans Pennine Trail.

Barnsley branch members raised money for the disabled bike at their charity luncheon by taking part in a sponsored static bike ride.

They meet at 7pm on the second Monday of the month at the Holiday Inn, Dodworth. Call 383631 for more details.
