MELTING blocks of ice form one of the pieces of art on display at the Cooper Gallery this month.
The gallery's latest exhibition takes climate change and global warming as its central theme, and one of the items on display is a video of lumps of ice melting in water.
The blocks were made by freezing water-filled discarded packaging moulds, and the piece is intended to mirror the melting of the polar ice caps.
There will also be a collection of images, objects and conversations from artist Paul Matosic’s walks around different areas of Barnsley and artwork from Gerry Loose’s research in landscapes that have been subjected to nuclear explosions.
In the gallery's Sadler Room there is an exhibition of work produced by youth groups from Kendray and New Lodge. Call 242905 for more details.
