PENISTONE Paramount’s pantomime was saved by a truck company after their scenery was left stranded in a warehouse.
A dress rehearsal of Rumplestiltskin was filmed on Wednesday night and will feature on BBC1’s Politics Show tomorrow to show how a small theatre can thrive in the face of adversity.
The show was almost scuppered, however, when the theatre group found they had no way of transporting the scenery to the cinema.
Some of the large painted backdrops, which have taken months to make, are up to 24 metres long. At the last minute, one of the chorus singers said her mother, who works for Ken Mallinsons Transport, may be able to help.
