ROYSTON fire station was demolished this week to make way for four new houses.
Coun Tracey Cheetham said she was sad to see it go, and still disagrees strongly with the village losing it.
"Councillors fought long and hard to keep it open but in the end it just wasn't possible.
"The fire station was a very important part of Royston and I'm upset that we lost that battle."
