A GRANDMOTHER who has custody of her eight-year-old grandson has raised almost £1,000 so other children cared for by relatives can enjoy a Christmas party.
Carol Fairburn, 65, belongs to a group called Kinkids, which provides support to people who care for their relatives' children.
She has looked after her grandson since he was three weeks old and will remain his guardian until he is 18.
She and staff have now raised almost £1,000 for a Christmas party for other Kinkids children and their carers by selling raffle tickets.
