A FALLEN tree was struck by a train near Wombwell railway station, causing severe railway delays.
On Monday afternoon, Network Rail contractors felled a tree which fell onto the tracks as a train from Huddersfield to Sheffield came past and hit it.
The shocked train driver had to be replaced, with the train sitting at Wombwell station until his replacement arrived.
