A BARNSLEY woman's relief turned to joy as she crossed the London Marathon's finish line and spotted her partner getting down on one knee.
Paul Kippax, 44, sped ahead to finish the race ready to pop the question to Judith Hygate, 51, as she crossed the finish line - Paul had carried the ring with him the whole way around.
Judith, of Birchin Bank, Elsecar, is midway through treatment for breast cancer and described the marathon as painful.
But as a member of Wombwell Running Club, Judith has previously run the London Marathon and has set her sights on the Race to Stones 100km race in the summer.
