A JOINT police operation to blitz crime in the Dearne and Wath areas has exceeded all expectations, thanks to information from the public.
More than £11,000 in cash, £6,300 of drugs including heroin, cocaine and cannabis, and £29,000 of stolen goods were recovered in Operation Dynamite involving Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster officers working as a cross-border team in the Dearne Valley.
“The results were fantastic and we'll be doing more of these,” said Sgt Billy Bell who led Wath Safer Neighbourhood Team.
“ We're looking at 44 prisoners and 13 people cautioned.” Insp Steve Batty of Goldthorpe SNT agreed.
“It is essential that the three police districts work together as people in the Dearne associate with people from Mexborough and Wath.”
