URGENT action is needed to control the growing problem of an invasive plant which can force its way through concrete and undermine the foundations of buildings.
Russel Wray submitted a 'dossier' of infestation sites to the council last year - but he says nothing has been done to stop the spread of Japanese knotweed in the Pogmoor area since he reported the scale of the problem - he produced a map highlighting sites across the area.
"People think it's just a little weed, but if you're a home owner and find you can't sell your house because nobody can get a mortgage due to it, then it's going to be a massive issue," said Russel, 48, of Northcote Terrace, Pogmoor.
