A LIGHT-FINGERED vicar who pocketed more than £24,000 in funeral and wedding fees has 'let Darton down', villagers have said.
Rev Simon Reynolds was priest in charge at All Saints' Church in Darton for six years before leaving in 2013. He was jailed for 32 months on Tuesday after being found guilty of four counts of theft.
Caroline Tubb, Senior Crown Prosecutor, CPS Yorkshire and Humberside said: "It is hard to imagine a more deplorable and flagrant breach of trust than a vicar stealing money from his own parishioners."
