CALLY Hays is dedicated to helping her community and has put her all into the reopening of the New Lodge Community Centre.Her devotion to her community has resulted in her being nominated for a Proud of Barnsley award.
The community centre, which is owned by Bernslai Homes, was closed down in April of last year after a lack of funds halted the refurbishment of the building.
It needed a new kitchen and toilets installing to be able to meet standards.
This led to the involvedment of the community and now the community centre is run and managed by volunteers.
