A WOMAN who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis ten years ago has been nominated for an award for setting herself the target of raising £10,000 for the charity which has supported her.
Debbie Worthington, 35, of Norwood Drive, Brierley, only told close family and friends about the diagnosis, but made the decision to go public at the start of this year to help raise money for the MS Trust.
She has set herself, and husband Joe, the challenge of 500km between them - all officially timed runs.
She has been nominated for a Proud of Barnsley award by her friend and president of JCI Barnsley, Tracy Anderson.
So far, Debbie has raised £9,000.
