GREAT grandmother Yvonne Saunder has tackled a knife-wielding intruder in her garden and put up with drug addicts knocking on her kitchen window.

Now her dedication to tackling anti-social behaviour in Worsbrough Common has won her a national award from Home Secretary John Reid.

Yvonne, 63, representing Yorkshire, Humberside and east England, was one of only five national winners and she has claimed a £6,000 prize for Worsbrough Common Community association.

Association secretary Yvonne received the “taking a stand” respect award at a ceremony in London on Monday.
