FOUR young riders from Barnsley had their dressage dreams come true when their team qualified for the finals of a national competition.

Alanna Clarke, 12, who was riding her horse Singing Lantana; 11-year-old Mollie Whitham, riding her friend's pony Dolly Mixture; Erin McSloy, ten, on Pinnochio; and Kelsea Truelove, 15, also on Dolly Mixture, beat teams from all over the Northern region in a semi final to clinch one of three spaces in the finals.

Team Quest is run by British Dressage and is a competition aimed at all ages and abilities, making dressage fun and accessible to riders from all walks of life.

Alanna, of Welland Crescent, Elsecar, said: "We are all now going to be practising a lot for the national finals and fingers crossed it will go well for us."
