A BARNSLEY student who died last Friday aged just 17, donated all her organs and has saved at least four young lives.

Skye Thompson was a perfectly healthy, fit and popular sports student at Barnsley college when she was struck down with a fatal illness.

Skye suffered a bleed on the brain at her home in High Green last Friday morning.

Her parents Helen and Peter took the decision that Skye would have wanted some good to come from her death and agreed that all her organs should be donated.

Her uncle Scott Thompson said: "Skye's death has been a complete tragedy, but out of that because of the amazing young woman Skye was, she donated her organs to save others.  If Skye's gift of life to others can encourage more people to donate organs, then that is something special."
