WORK has now begun to install solar panels on council houses across the borough as part of a new energy scheme.
The first panels are being installed on properties at Cottesmore Close, Gawber, Middlecliffe Drive at Crow Edge and Cartmell Court, Carlton.
Once installed, the solar panels will help reduce the electricity bills of the Berneslai Homes tenants by about £130 to £150 a year, as well as lowering their carbon emissions.
