PLASTERERS will be at work tomorrow in the next phase of restoring the home where two young boys died in a fire started deliberately by their father.

Two local firms, RK Plastering and Faxon plasterers have agreed to do the work at the Sykes’ family home in Tennyson Close, Penistone, and are appealing for help from the public.

They need help with labouring duties and are asking for anyone with time available from 8.30am tomorrow to turn up at the house.

Penistone cafe The Loft will be supplying hot drinks and bacon sandwiches for the volunteers and the tradesmen hope to complete their task within a week.

The house was destroyed in a fire started by the Jack and Paul Sykes’s father Darren, who was estranged from their mother Claire Throssell. He also died in the blaze.

He had cancelled insurance, leaving Claire with no means to have the house repaired.
