Ryan Williams' return to fitness has increased the number of formations Reds head coach Lee Johnson can use.

The 22-year-old Australian is now back in full training after injury and came off the bench for the final 25 minutes in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at Oakwell.

Head coach Lee Johnson said of Williams: "When we signed him we wanted to build around his qualities. "We looked at him playing in a diamond which we haven't really played this year.

"He can play in a number of positions and he's very versatile. He's a very energetic player and a busy bee.  It's a case of building his confidence up to get him back to his best because he is looking good physically.

"He started nervously on Saturday but he hadn't even had an under 21s game. He got better and better. It's been disappointing not to have him so far but it's massive for us to have him back going into the second half of the season."

Williams signed for a six-figure fee in the summer following a successful loan spell from Fulham but had played only 28 minutes in one appearance this season before Saturday.
