A MANHUNT has been launched after a pensioner was tied up, gagged and threatened with a knife in his own home.

The victim, 70, answered the door in Rowland Street, Royston, at around 9.30pm last Thursday to a baraclava-clad man who threatened him with a knife before forcing him back into the flat.

He tied up the elderly resident then left with a quantity of cash and a mobile phone.

The victim called for help but was not heard until the following morning.

A police spokesman said: “The victim was bound by his hands and feet and his mouth was covered when police found him.”

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident 242 of November 27.
