A BARNSLEY man was attacked in his home, abducted and shot in the knee caps in a ‘merciless’ attack before being dumped 250 miles away in Scotland, police have confirmed.

The Chronicle exclusively reported earlier this year that a 45-year-old man found with gunshot wounds to his knees in Glasgow was thought to have been kidnapped from his bungalow on Strafford Walk, Dodworth, on March 11 before being found two days later shot and thrown down an embankment close to a busy main road in the East Kilbride area.

Eight months on and detectives from Police Scotland have issued a fresh appeal for information and e-fit images of three men they wish to identify in connection with the incident, which has left the man with life-changing injuries.

Superintendent Shelley Hemsley, from the Barnsley Local Policing Unit, said: “I would ask people to look at the images and if you recognise any of the men or you remember seeing anything which you believe may be related to this incident, please contact Police Scotland.”
