A MOTORIST who has twice had the bonnet of his Land Rover stolen has warned others to be vigilant of what he thinks could be a gang stealing vehicle parts.

John Fisher has forked out about £2,000 replacing the bonnets and now parks his Land Rover Defender off the road.

John, 32, of Ladywood Road, Grimethorpe, said: "When it happened the first time, I thought it was just bad luck but for it to happen again in a short space of time, it's someone who knows about these things.

"It could be gangs. It seems to be someone local but it's hard to prove.

"It's made me very mad, to the point of finding somewhere else to live."

He said the second time it happened, a neighbour had his vehicle lights stolen, and was sold back his own lights when he went to buy second-hand ones.

He warned people to be vigilant.
