INDY the cat almost had to spend Christmas home alone when he got locked inside a house under renovation on Christmas Eve.

Four-year-old Indy, named after the daredevil fictional adventurer Indiana Jones, caused owner Ruth Zoldan to worry after he went exploring the renovation project on Victoria Crescent on December 23, and found himself trapped inside after the plumber locked up and went home for Christmas.

Ruth, from neighbouring Lindgard Court, began to worry after the usually punctual Indy failed to come home that night - and used some detective skills to work out where he had ended up.

After the Chronicle managed to get in touch with the building's owner Mohammad Sharif, he rushed out to his house to help reunite Ruth with Indy.
