A MAN who carried out a random cashpoint stabbing in Royston has been jailed.
Alan Knee, of Station Road, Ryhill, was found guilty of attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon at Sheffield Crown Court after the attack on November 21 at Asda, off Midland Road.
The 48-year-old was jailed to three years and four months for the robbery and 12 months for the second, which will run concurrently, after the incident left a Royston man requiring hospital treatment.
His victim, 28-year-old Adam Wood, of Park Crescent, was drawing money out of the cashpoint near the supermarket’s entrance at around 7pm before the terrifying event unfolded.
