NEW business units near the M1 are the first to be built with help from a £2million Barnsley Council fund to try and bring business and jobs to the town.
The property investment fund was designed to stimulate the development of commercial sites and attract new businesses to the borough.
The first three units at the Gateway 36 development, near Birdwell, have now been let to Barnsley Council who will now work with property agents to promote them to businesses who may be looking to move to Barnsley or to expand.
