A MUM who was the victim of a hit and run car crash says she is furious that police have still not taken any action more than two months later.
Julie Smith had her 11-year-old daughter in the car with her when she was hit from behind on Remembrance Sunday as she approached the Cortonwood retail park.
She was able to capture the registration number of the car which hit her, scooped up broken bits of the car, and gave a description of the driver and his passenger so felt confident police would catch the culprit.
Acting Inspector Chris Foster from Barnsley West’s Local Policing Unit said: “Enquiries have been undertaken since the collision, in a bid to locate the vehicle involved and identify the driver.
“This can be quite a complicated process, but I want to reassure the complainant that this remains an active investigation and numerous lines of enquiry are ongoing to identify the driver.”
