A DERELICT pub which has been an eyesore for years in Monk Bretton could be demolished and replaced with two doctors’ surgeries, a pharmacy and eight flats.
Proposals for the Butchers Arms on High Street have been submitted to the council by Mr VA Akram, who runs a pharmacy across the road and owns another on High Street, Wombwell.
The application states the pub has become ‘redundant and derelict’ since it closed some years ago.
It says it is in such a poor state or repair that demolition and redevelopment is the best way to regenerate the site.
