IT’S amazing what you can find on eBay - like a post card sent from Barnsley to America by your grandfather in 1939.
That’s what happened to Jane Walton when she was reminiscing about her grandfather’s passion for amateur radio.
Clifton Trevor Malkin was a keen amateur radio ham throughout his life. At precisely 10.45am on July 26, 1939, he went to Wombwell Post Office and posted to America a card documenting a radio communication he had made.
Amazingly almost 77 years later his granddaughter Jane managed to buy that same card on eBay - miraculously choosing to ‘Google’ it the exact same week the American collector had decided to list it for sale.
